To Be Real – performance flyer

I created this flyer for the collaborative performance piece “To Be Real,” created and performed by Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay and myself. The flyers included a Facebook event banner, a square image for digital sharing, and a printed copy.

“To Be Real” is a performance written by Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay and Tori Hong. Together, Hong and Vongsay performed “To Be Real” on 9/1/18 as a part of the 2018 Our Space Is Spoken For Fellowship. The accompanying zine was put inside lucky red envelopes with $2 bills and given to vendors and customers at the Sun Foods Farmers’ Market in Saint Paul. The performance culminated in a 2-minute movement piece inspired by Frogtown resident Winston Tuan Nguyen and invitation to take off ones’ shoes and come home.

Release MN 8

I created this image for the Release Minnesota 8 campaign. In August 2016, 8 Cambodian Americans were detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in a nation-wide raid. Most of these men came to the US as children and have never stepped foot in Cambodia. 5 of the men have been deported. 3 of the detained have been released. The struggle continues.
